Cat Age Calculator: Cat Years to Human Years
A 1-year-old cat is about 15 in human years and a 2-year-old is about 24. After that, each year adds about 4, so a 10-year-old cat is about 56.

How this calculator works
Ages come from the American Veterinary Medical Association age chart: 15 at one year, 24 at two, then about 4 more for each year after. The chart stops at 16, so we continue the same step for older cats. Ages under one year are a rough estimate.
Cat life stages
The AAHA and AAFP feline guidelines use four age stages:
- Kitten: birth up to 1 year
- Young adult: 1 through 6 years
- Mature adult: 7 to 10 years
- Senior: over 10 years
These are guides, not rules. A healthy 11-year-old may still act like a mature adult.
